DEVELOPERS SUPPORT

The LETRIPP range of products is available to developers. Developers are persons who like to ADD performance or features to the existing products, firmware or software. For this reason various packages are available for the different enthusiast. We, at Perfect Power, believe in the ingenuity of the individual – YOU. Your ideas, and comments, are welcome, and you will find us very receptive to all kind of “crazy” ideas. Talk to us!

When we say we support developers, we mean it. Available are:

Circuit diagrams
You need these once you open a unit. The units are not sealed! You can repair a unit, or simply change the hardware to suit your needs.

Firmware (in Assembler)
Yes, you read it correctly: Assembler. We like the raw power and performance of assembler code. It is not easy to write, but coupled to 40MIPS of 16 bit processor performance gives outstanding real-time performance. That's what we like!

USB Communications protocol
This item is a must, if you like to write your own tuning software for a different platform. It is the key to ALL units. With it you can unlock the unit's performance.

LIN Communications protocol
This item is only valuable if you need to connect to the Local Information Network (LIN) bus. The industry standard LIN bus specifications do not apply! Our bus is much faster (312.5KB), and the collision avoidance is simpler.

LETRIPP system structure
The PC tuning software works with any unit. This requires a set of rules and specifications provided by the structure. You need to have the USB communications protocol to unlock it.

WINDOWS .NET USB sample code
This is a little software program to test USB communications and to put any unit through its paces. You can tune an engine with it, but it is not recommended. In fact it is a pain to do so. But if you write your own application, this is what you need together with the USB communications protocol. The open source code is provided! You need the relevant MICROSOFT tools!

WINDOWS .NET source code
You can have the whole lot, or portions of it to get you over a problem. We don't like to see our code splashed over the world or in any other commercial application, unless it was purchased as such. But, it is available!

HOW MUCH IS IT?
Of course, we don't give it away. But – we don't intend to make money on it either! However, we like to see what you can come up with. Talk to us! If you have developed something everyone needs, then we like to have it. We can publish it under your name, or pay you for it. Or give you BETA products, which you may want to have. We have never have done this sort of thing before. Never the less, we are committed to make it a success! We also support racing clubs with the need to use a standard ECU in order to level the playing field. We are a bit wary of commercial applications, but do not exclude them. You may simply want to toy with your own ideas, or like to take the product further. In any event, we are sympathetic!

OEM DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT
In this area we are very active, and we think that the LETRIPP idea is an ideal platform for customer specific solutions. LETRIPP lets you structure your own software and we put into the firmware what you need. The process from the idea to the solution takes 2-4 weeks and is very cost effective, if you have the quantities to support it.
