SMT6 INSTALLATION ON A TOYOTA SUPRA 3.0 TURBO

A car owner has for a while been asking me, if I could do something to improve performance of his car. The car is a '94 Toyota Supra 3.0 turbo aut. (7MGTE) with forged JE pistons, upgraded turbo and 3" exhaust system. The boost was raised with a bleeder and a fuel cut defender up to 1.2bar / 360HP on the rear wheels. He had heard about the SMT6 and its capabilities, and wanted to give it a try. 380rwHP -and he would be happy, he said.

The SMT6 was fitted as a boost and fuel controller, pretty straightforward, using frequency fuel and NOS output to map the boost. After 4 hours the car was done on the dyno, ending up with 422HP on the rear wheels. @ 1.3bar boost. The fuel was leaned out from below 10:1 to 12:1.

The reaction at low revs was enormous; the precise tuning via the SMT6 of boost and fuel gave excellent results, making the power band much wider. This was indeed a fair deal more then the customer bargained for, and more than I ever would promise anyone.

This operation has cut 0.5 sec of the 1/4mile time and he is now doing mid 13's
