FUEL TUNER FT RANGE

FT40 The Fuel Tuner is the most advanced Fuel Controller in the market today. It is completely plug-and-play to control the fuel, and some optional wiring-in is also available for additional control on other sensors, such as Air Temperature, Engine Temperature, TPS, Manifold Pressure, etc. The Fuel Tuner can trim individual injectors and has also been designed to extend the RPM limit. FT20

The Fuel Tuner comes in three different models, suited for various cylinders in vehicles.

The Fuel Tuner 20 (FT20), is ideal for 2-cylinder engines and is a must for motorbikes. The Fuel Tuner 40 (FT40), is perfect for 4-cylinder engines and will ensure an ultra smooth drive once installed. The Fuel Tuner 60 (FT60), is ideal for 6-cylinder engines. We don't have an FT80 as yet, but if the market demands this size of Fuel Tuner, then we will consider producing it!

FEATURES OF THE FUEL TUNER FT - IN MORE DETAIL

INJECTOR TRIMMING
The Fuel Tuner can "trim" individual injectors, but it cannot tune the fuel while the ECU is in "Lambda closed loop". Injector trimming is a process by which each injector signal can be modified individually. Each injector can be individually trimmed up or down (i.e. more or less fuel) to suit your requirements. This feature is typically used to fine-tune the inaccuracies of each physical cylinder or inlet manifold. Once an injector has been trimmed, it is then applied throughout the entire rev range.

EXTENDING THE RPM LIMIT
The RPM extension is a feature that we have wanted to do for many years. Finally the technology presented itself and it works extremely well. It will extend the RPM past the RPM limit of the vehicle by about 500 RPM, depending on the vehicle. In the RPM extension mode, the LetRipp Fuel Tuner remembers the last injector plus length. When the ECU cuts the fuel for the RPM limit, the LetRipp Fuel Tuner just keeps injecting the same amount of fuel, allowing your engine to rev higher. Some ECUs also cut the ignition after the fuel cut, normally 500 PRM after the fuel cut. In this case this will be your new RPM limit.

PLUG-AND-PLAY
The Fuel Tuner is "Plug-and-Play" for the purpose of modifying and controlling fuel. The installation is achieved in minutes once the injectors are accessible. One side of the Fuel Tuner harness plugs into the existing injector clips and the other side plugs onto the Bosch injectors. The Fuel Tuner then directly controls the opening and closing of the injectors with reference to the injector signal from the ECU. If there is a fault in the wiring or installation for some reason, the Fuel Tuner will default to output the same signal as the ECU, enabling your vehicle to start and run as before. The fault is then indicated by the Fuel Tuner’s RED LED light while it continues to operate. The wiring sequence of injectors is not important as the unit relies on the existing ECU injector signal as a trigger. What this means is, for example, you could take an FT40 unit and only tune two injectors with it or take two FT40 units to tune a V6 - not a problem!

TUNING CAPABILITIES
The basic installation achieves a "one dimensional" map with injector trimming capability. This means you have 24 fuel points against RPM that would affect fuelling. In order to achieve advanced tuning capability the throttle position must be connected, which will yield a "two dimensional" map with 384 sites. This can further be enhanced by installing Engine temperature, Air temperature or Manifold pressure inputs, which will result in a "five dimensional" tuning capability with a total of 508 sites and full calibration of all sensors. Connecting to these sensors will require wires to be cut and tee-ed in.

LATEST TECHNOLOGY TUNING
The FUEL map in the software has a resolution of 0.01ms per cell. This allows for precise tuning for any requirement. A high speed USB 2.0 communication port on the Fuel Tuner, makes light work of the large data content. Data is unnoticeably transferred up and down automatically. The software will always acquire (go online) with the Fuel Tuner unit and no intervention is required.

ON-LINE HELP
The software has an On-Line Help Feature. Simply right click on any item holding down the mouse button and a HELP message will appear. This will explain the item in more detail, what it is used for and how it would possibly affect the tuning of the unit. You don't need to worry about referring to the Manual, as the manual has now been integrated into the software!

ON-LINE FAULT REPORTING
The software has a built-in fault detection where it will indicate the fault of a particular item in red. Moving your mouse over this red item will show a fault description, informing the user of the possible cause.

MAP SWITCHING WITH HIGH SPEED DATA TRANSFER
Switching maps while you drive is another feature that has been improved. Data is now transferred at such a high speed over the USB communication, that you won’t even notice that data is being transferred. Every action that is executed on the Fuel Tuner, results in a message informing you that the task has been successfully completed.

A new update to the MAP SWITCHING feature, is that the engine specific configuration information is commonly shared between both maps A and B. This is good news to those who have switched between maps A and B, while in a map, and experienced a different engine configuration! Other enhancements have been to the file saving or loading and the loading of the on-board default map.
