IMS - IGNITION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The IMS is one of our older Stand Alone units. It is no longer in production, but for the benefit of our customers who still use these units, we provide the list of features, wiring diagrams and software downloads below.

Retard and Advance any pick up, after 8 cylinders, requires a coil amplifier.

Two hardware IMS systems are available:

IMS-A - With Absolute Manifold Pressure (AMP) sensor
IMS - With AMP sensor

Turbo and normal aspirated engines without a "hot" cam benefit from the AMP map tuning. Normal aspirated engines with a "hot" cam have very little manifold pressure change and a AMP sensor is useless !

Supplied with Harness

The IMS is free standing ignition system with the following features:

4,(5),6,8,10,12 cylinders
6 ignition outputs
Optical or hall sensor inputs
Magnetic pickup
60 teeth pickup
Multiple teeth magnetic pickup
AMP option
Throttle position pickup with learning facility
Up to 10000 RPM for 60 teeth pickup
Up to 20000 RPM for other pickups
Dwell time specification
Output polarity adjustable
Input polarity adjustable
Multi or single coil output
Very small, fits anywhere
Low battery drain
Self checking
2 maps, switchable while you drive
All inputs protected
Crystal controlled
RS232 communications port
The ignition timing can be controlled via RPM and throttle position, and modified by a optional AMP map. The maps are accessible from a single screen for easy tuning. The spark can be retarded or advanced from the pick-up position.
