4 CHANNEL AUTO INVERTER

The 4 Channel Auto Inverter from Perfect Power can be used with any type of switching signal.

The Auto Inverter is used to INVERT an ignition signal. A large variety of ignition coils and amplifiers are available on the market and they do not always trigger on the same polarity. Hence the need for the Perfect Power 4 Channel Auto Inverter.

The four inverting channels have a current limit of 100mA, only sufficient to trigger an amplifier or relay. These four channels cannot drive any type of coil or injector.

A fantastic additional feature, is that the Auto-Inverter includes two auxiliary drivers on-board, rated at 6 Amps each. However, these drivers should not be used to drive ignition coils directly.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF THE AUTO INVERTER

The Auto Inverter comprises of 4 individual signal inverters, PLUS 2 separate power drivers, also acting as inverters.

Supply voltage	8 to 18 Volts
Temperature range, storage	- 20 to + 80 deg C
Temperature range, operating	- 20 to + 60 deg C
Required input signal for inverter operation	I1, I2, I3 & I4 100 ohm or less (short) to ground to turn output OFF 100 kilo ohm or more (open circuit) to turn output ON Any open input will turn the relevant output ON!
Output current sink capability per channel	50 mA
Output current source capability per channel	4 mA
Required input signal for driver operation	DR1 & DR2, min of 8V, max of 18V to turn outputs ON Input signals below 1V (short to ground) will turn outputs OFF
Output current sink capability per driver	6 Amps
Protection	The power drivers are protected against short circuit, as well as long term overloads.
Indications	The red LED lights up when the 12V supply is connected with correct polarity.

WARNING: Power drivers CANNOT be used as ignition drivers!

USING THE AUTO INVERTER FOR AN EXTRA DRIVER APPLICATION

In some applications, it is necessary to exceed the 6A limit of the injector or function drivers in our current piggy-back and stand-alone products. The Auto Inverter has two injector drivers built into them, each capable of driving 6A each. Connected in parallel, this will allow you to drive up to 12A of current for use in more power hungry applications.

Please note that these are injector drivers and NOT ignition drivers! Applications that require a higher current rating on the coils should use the Blue-Fire Dual Channel Ignition Amplifier instead.
