Wireless technology is the transfer of data across a distance, without the use
of communication wires. We are proud to have four Perfect Power products which are WIRELESS enabled.
The
WIRELESS tuning feature is currently available on the following products:
ABOUT WIRELESS COMMUNICATION
Wireless Communication is convenient and trouble free - it eliminates the need of short USB communication cables
and avoids connecting to the target product, especially when the target product is hidden in an
inaccessible place!
The only thing that we have experienced with our WIRELESS products, is that they
cannot power the unit!
For everything else, it is just a click away from your laptop to our
product nestled away, somewhere in your car.
Wireless Communication means that you will now be able to install our WIRELESS products
in "never-to-reach-again"
places and still be able to communicate with them. If you are worried about the safe
data accessibilty
of your WIRELESS product, there is no need to be concerned. Data security is assured
by the technology
and unauthorised access is avoided by the branding option.
HOW DOES THE WIRELESS SYSTEM WORK?
Only one (1) POD (Our Part Number: WirX) is required per workshop/tuning shop.
The POD can acquire up to 8 target products within a certain range (5 to 20 metres). The POD also
prevents access to the unit, so the wireless feature is very useful.
The wireless system prevents any interference that could be present from the USB
port. This sort of interference is the cause of "PC stall", which can be very annoying when tuning.
The WIRELESS system supports all features in our USB counterpart products,
however it can be a bit slower. This is not noticeable with normal signal strength, (dependant on
the distance and installation setup), but becomes noticeable at very low Rx (receiver) signals.
This is because at these low Rx signals, communications are repeated more often if an error is encountered.
All our Perfect Power WIRELESS products require the POD WireX and a laptop.
Wireless networking is not suitable for Automotive applications.
PERFECT POWER'S WIRELESS PRODUCTS
Wireless is an absolute must in racing applications. It will not work all the way around the track
(we are working on that!), but it will allow full communication before the car comes to a standstill, without
opening panels and without any physical connections. For example, a car passing the pits at 200Km/h is approx.
1 second in range, provided the actual unit is installed correctly.
The Perfect Power WIRELESS enabled products have a built-in
antennae and operate on an internationally approved 2.4Ghz band, on 16 frequencies with
manual hopping. At present the transmitting power is 0.001Watt, which is the range limiting factor.
In the near future, products with a 0.1Watt transmitting power, will be available with an
increased range.
