9. SETPOINT CONTROL (Continued...)

This powerful feature allows:
  • The activation of up to 8 wires for switching relays, solenoids, lamps.
  • The “cutting” of fuel
  • The “cutting” of the ignition
  • The activation of an “engine” light according to fault codes. There are 16 functions, each function performs a specific task.
Each function can specify the following options, but some functions may not need all options.

  • ENABLE: It enables the evaluation of the function, and results in a TRUE/FALSE Performance.
  • WIRE: A wire (output) can be specified. If one is specified, then the TRUE evaluation result in the specified wire being switched ON, otherwise OFF. A zero results in no wire activation.
  • FUEL CUT: Once enabled, the fuel will be “cut” if TRUE. The details as how the fuel is actually “cut” is specified elsewhere.
  • IGN CUT: The ignition is “cut” when the function is true.
  • SETPOINT:This is the set point variable for the comparison to the engine inputs.
  • HI/LOW: If HI is specified, then the function is TRUE when the input is higher than the set point.
  • AND: This option allows the “ANDING” of this function with ONE other Function.
  • OR: This option allows the “ORING” of this function with ONE other function.
  • FUNCTION: It specifies the other function with which this function should be combined. The functions are numbered 0-16.

Here is a list of all functions, with an indication of the installed options:

Examples:

  • Put a lamp on at 6000 RPM or higher. We choose RPM #1, set HI/LOW = High, RPM=6000, specify a WIRE.
  • Switch a CAM (relay) above 4000 RPM when full throttle. We choose RPM #1, set HI/LOW=High, RPM=4000, AND set, F=5 (Throttle) Set throttle function: 90%, HI
  • Put the FAN (relay) ON when Engine temperature >90C or when full throttle. Engine temp function: EN, Hi, 90, OR, 5, WIRE Throttle function: EN, HI, 90%
