SMART TUNER SMT6 - AS A STAND ALONE

IGNITION SYSTEM APPLICATION

Perfect Power Application Notes.

Application Note : AN 3.5

Introduction

This application note describes how to install an SMT6 as a stand-alone ignition system.

Applications

The SMT6 can be set up in two different applications.
  • A four cylinder, waster spark system. If you wanted to run a four cylinder wasted spark engine you would need to run a 60-2 wheel, and
  • A single coil and distributor application, you would need a single pulse input and output.

On both applications, you can set a dwell time and a rev limiter.

Conclusion

Although we do not advise that the SMT6 is used in a Stand-Alone application, this is still possible. Please remember that the SMT6 unit has been designed to be a "piggy-back" unit and not a full stand-alone system. The SMT6's capabilities are limited in a stand-alone system.
