Application Note - How to calibrate the AMP Voltage (AN 2.10)

HOW TO CALIBRATE THE AMP (MAP) VOLTAGE FOR NA OR TURBO APPLICATION

Step 1 : In the Let Ripp Tuning Software, display the AMP value as a small number on the screen. ref to ’Data Display App’(With the engine not running but switched power on)

Step 2 : Open the AMP Config map.

Step 3 : Click on the ‘AMP CALIBRATION’, the config map that opens will be the uncalibrated map.

Step 4 : In the Lower Calibration field, enter the following values as they have been found to generally correct for most installations, Volts: 0.2, Position: 1, BAR: 0.2. The ‘Enter’ key has to be pressed after each value has been entered for the change to take effect.

Step 5 : With the ignition on the ‘Present Input Value Volts’ will represent atmospheric pressure at your location, so this voltage is entered into the High Calibration Volts field. Press enter after entry.

Step 6 : The BAR value at our location is 0.84 (1500m above sea level), should you be at sea level the BAR value would be 1.00 . Press the ‘Enter’ key for the change to take effect.

Step 7 : The trickiest part about the position entry is what are you planning to do with the AMP reading in the Maps for a load based compensation table.

The above two examples show one scaled for a NA engine where the unit has calculated the values up to the 1.02 BAR pressure which would be the coastal pressure. The second calibration is for an engine that will be boosted to around 0.8 BAR positive pressure. By moving the High Calibration position down will cause the unit to recalculate the Bar Scale. After each position change the ‘Apply’ must be pressed for the change to take effect.
