Application Note - How to calibrate the TPS Sensor (AN 1.10)

HOW TO CALIBRATE THE TPS IN AN UN-LINEAR, LINEAR OR CUSTOM CURVE

Step 1 : In the Let Ripp Tuning Software, display the TPS value as a small number on the screen. ref to’ Data Display App’ (With the engine not running but switched power on).

Step 2 : Open the TPS Config map.

Step 3 : Click on the ‘TPS CALIBRATION’

Step 4 : In the Lower Calibration field, enter the same value as displayed in the SN window or add 0.5 to it so the cursor will always go into the far left column, once the number has been entered; the ‘Enter’ key has to be pressed for the change to take effect. The percentage displayed is in most instances never 0% as the TPS voltage at full off is around 0.65 volts, the unit just needs to know where foot off (idle) position is.

Step 5 : Go to WOT (with the engine not running but switched power on)

Step 6 : In the Upper Calibration field you can enter the same value as displayed or subtract 1% to it so the cursor will always go into the far right column at WOT conditions, once the number has been entered, the ‘Enter’ key has to be pressed for the change to take effect.

Step 7 : With the Upper and Lower values entered, the three options are “Linear’, ‘ Un-Linear’ or ‘Custom’

If the calibration calls for ‘Custom’ curve, Apply the values either in a Linear or Un-linear scale, select the value that you wish to adjust in the Scale column, use ‘M or L’ to increase or decrease value, when the desired curve is obtained then press the ‘Apply Cust’ button.

Step 8 : At the base of the Main tuning maps the entered TPS curve can be seen.
